Auburn – Thomas Buelt, 54, died Friday, June 30, 2017 at his home. Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City with Father Lynn Bruch officiating and burial was in the Breda Cemetery.
Thomas Michael Buelt was born on December 9, 1962, in Manning, Iowa to Alfred and Jacqueline (Determan) Buelt. After high school he served in the United States Army from 1981-1984 and he was an expert with the M-16 Rifle and the hand grenade. On October 11, 1996, Tom married Laura Buelt in Sac City, Iowa. He was a member of the Auburn American Legion.
Tom is survived by his wife Laura of Auburn, children Tim (Stacy) Heithoff of Carroll, Andy (Chris) Markham of Des Moines, Clifford (Talia) Weilenman of Des Moines, Chasidy (Joseph) Buelt of Minnesota, Krista Buelt of Minnesota, Shauna (Wesly) Buelt of Minnesota, Joseph Buelt of Auburn, and Beth (Brett) Buelt of Carroll, and 8 grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Cindy (Louis) Grote of Carroll, Deb (Tim) Pietig of Carroll, Jim (Amy) Buelt of Halbur, Ken (Julie Nielson) Buelt of Coon Rapids, Becky Riesenberg of Carroll, and Dan Buelt of Carroll and nieces and nephews Nathan and Alex Grote, Kayla Riesenberg, and Kennedy Buelt. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joseph in infancy, and father- and mother-in-law Bill and Anna Weilenman.
