Newell – Eleanor Lampe, 86, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society in Newell. A private family service will be held.
Eleanor Mary (Reiff) Lampe was born on December 16, 1930, to Albert and Loretta (Staiert) Reiff. After graduating from O.L.G.C. High School in Fonda, Eleanor attended Lab Tech training and worked at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll for Dr. Anneberg before marrying Bernard “Bud” Lampe on September 2, 1950, at O.L.G.C. in Fonda. She was a member of Holy Family, CD of A, Pocahontas County Right to Life, Older Iowan Legislation, and Diocesan Council of Catholic Woman.
Eleanor is survived by her husband, Bud Lampe of Newell, children Marlene (John) Cimpl of Columbus, NE, Richard Lampe of Fonda, Steve Lampe of Newell, and Eileen (Jim) Hornor of Fonda, 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Lois Kurt and Jolene Bristow both of Green Valley, AZ and Mary Lee O’Connor of Kansas City, brother Delbert Reiff of Fonda, sisters-in-law Rose Reiff of Wisconsin, Joanne (Danny) Plantz of Pocahontas, Sandy Lampe of Fort Dodge, and brothers-in-law, Leo Held of Minnesota and Jim Lampe of Pocahontas and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sons David, Jerome and Michael Lampe, sisters Delores Jaksich, Marlene, Rita, Mary Ann Reiff and Karol Held and brother Don Reiff.
