Lake City – LuAnn Reicks, 70, died Friday, October 13, 2017 at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City. Mass of Christian Burial was held at on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lake City. Celebrant was Father Lynn Bruch and burial was in St. John’s Cemetery, Arcadia.
LuAnn J. (Lammers) Reicks was born on December 11, 1946 in Carroll, Iowa to Albert and Juletta (Niehaus) Lammers. After graduating high school LuAnn went on to Nursing School at St. Vincent’s Nursing School in Sioux City and eventually earned her Masters in Nursing Education from St. Joseph’s Nursing School in Maine. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City for 47 years and also a Nursing Educator at Iowa Central Community College for 25 years before retiring in 2014. On July 22, 1967 LuAnn married Gary Reicks in Arcadia, Iowa. LuAnn was a member of the CDA, American Legion Auxiliary, St. Teresa’s Sodality, and the Iowa Board of Nursing.
LuAnn is survived by her husband Gary of Lake City, sons Chris of Fort Dodge and Joseph of Lake City, daughter Jill (David) Fuller of Fort Dodge, 4 grandchildren; Jerica, Gary, Sophie and Grace, and sister Karen (Kenny) Baumhover of Maple River. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Juletta Ann, grandson Christopher Anthony, and sister Eileen Beyerink.
