Lake City – Amy Steinkamp, 48, died Monday, July 23, 2018 at her home following a courageous battle with colon cancer. Funeral services were held on Monday, July 30, 2018 at the Lake City Union Church with burial in the Lake City Cemetery.
Amy Lynn Steinkamp was born on March 16, 1970, in Lake City, Iowa to William and Priscilla (Chinstedt) Thomsen. After graduating from Lake City High School in 1988, Amy attended U.N.I. for 4 years. She worked as an office manager at Schleisman Chiropractic in Lake City. On May 5, 2012, Amy married Jim Steinkamp at the Lake City Union Church.
Amy is survived by her husband Jim, daughter Jessica Hicks and son Corey Hicks all of Lake City; stepsons Ryan Steinkamp (Cassie Wallace), Taylor (Mindy) Steinkamp and Christian Steinkamp; step-daughters Macy Steinkamp (Jason Trott), Kaitlin Steinkamp, Sophie Steinkamp; 2 step-grandchildren, Henley Steinkamp and Cole Trott; mother Priscilla Thomsen; brother Terry (Mary) Thomsen; sister Tracy (Andy) Cutler; mother-in-law Bernadeen Steinkamp; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father William Thomsen and father-in-law Paul Steinkamp.
