Carol Jean Libolt, 73, of Rockwell City and formerly of Cherokee, passed away at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames on February 14, 2019 from complications of surgery.
A visitation with prayer service was held Saturday, February 23 at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Carol Jean (Beckman) Libolt was born May 6, 1945 in Omaha, Nebraska. Parents were Wally and Mabel Beckman of Lake View. Carol graduated in 1963 from Lake View-Auburn High School.
Carol was united in marriage to Ron Libolt on April 6, 1974 in Elk Point, South Dakota. Following their marriage they lived in Cherokee for 34 years where she did daycare and worked as an advocate for a domestic abuse agency working with battered women. Carol and Ron moved to Rockwell City in 2009.
Carol enjoyed reading, playing cards, watching tv, socializing, and spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ron, parents Wally and Mabel Beckman and brother Randy Beckman.
She is survived by her children and families:
Richard Walters and his wife Linda, and their children Rick (Sarita) and their children Michael and Ariana of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Rebecca of Louisville, Kentucky.
Rodney Walters, and his wife Darci, and their children Andy (Rachel) Walters and their children Fay And Luke of Rockwell City, Kyle (Charlotte) Walters of Boston, Massachusetts, Scott Walters of Rockwell City, Nichole Walters of Fort Dodge and Heath Walters of Rockwell City
Randy Walters and his wife Tae of Nagasaki, Japan: and their children Sarah of West Des Moines and Mitchell and his daughter Lara of Rockwell City.
Rob Libolt and his wife Jessica and their children Parker, Payton, and Porter of Center Point, Iowa
Carol is also survived by her sister, Cathy Beckman of Ames; niece Kerri Olson and family of Grinnell; and brother, Steve Beckman of Lake View.
