On Saturday, July 13, 2019, Gloria A. (Lohr) Wattonville of Lohrville, Iowa, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away after an extended illness at the age of 80 at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll, Iowa where she has resided the past four years.
Gloria was born on June 27, 1939, in Lohrville, Iowa to Hubert J. and Helen L. (Laurinat) Lohr. She graduated from Lohrville High School in 1957. On September 11, 1960, she married E.R. “Bud” Wattonville in Lohrville, Iowa. Gloria and Bud started their married life farming on the Lohr family farm north of Lohrville. After the birth of their daughter, Kellie, in 1962 they moved to Ankeny, Iowa. Daughter Tracie was born in 1970. Returning to Lohrville in 1972 where Gloria has called home the remaining years of her life. During this time she was a bartender for several years, she also worked at Air Electric Machine Co. and at Doug’s Market both in Lohrville.
Gloria enjoyed playing Bingo, Euchre, Genealogy, and listening to country western music. Her greatest pride and joy centered on her family, grandchildren and her dogs which brought her much happiness.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her two daughters Kellie Christensen of Lohrville and Tracie (Fred) List of Odebolt; seven grandchildren: Ryan (Michelle) Christensen and their son Eli of Ames, Tyler Christensen of Ames, Nathan Christensen (Hannah Fletchall) of Lohrville, Nick Wattonville (Katherine Fictore) of Remsen, Noah List, EmmaLeigh List and Sheldon List all of Odebolt; brother Bert (Diane) Lohr of Manitowoc, Wisconsin; niece Dana Lohr of Chichago, Illinois; Nephew Todd (Sarah) Lohr and their children Stella and Henry of Lake Forest, Illinois; and several cousins.
Memorials may be left for St. Anthony Regional Hospice.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Lampe Funeral Home, Lake City with Pastor Randy Russom officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Lohrville.
