Lake City – Ronald Gregg, 77, died Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Woodlawn Christian Church in Lake City with Pastor Roy Karlen officiating and burial was in the Lake City Cemetery. 

Ronald C Gregg was born in October 5, 1942 in Lake City, Iowa to Walter and Berniece (Pierce) Gregg.  He grew up on the farm and attended Country School until 8th grade. He graduated from Lake City High School with the class of 1960.  On January 22, 1964 Ron married Carol Spencer in Waukon, Iowa and to this union two sons were born; Todd and James. He worked for Pat Ryan, owner of Lake City Super Valu, as a sacker and worked his way up to manager of Jefferson Super Valu for Jim Schleisman.  In 1979, Ron and Carol purchased their own Super Valu in Eldora, Iowa. 

Ron enjoyed golfing, hunting with his boys, and he could be found in his “Big Garage” playing Euchre with the guys.  His biggest joy was working the fields and running the grain wagon for David Iler.  Ron and Carol enjoyed traveling many places with Larry and Vi Schleisman.

Ron is survived by his wife Carol of Lake City; sons Todd (Teresa) Gregg and James (Deanna) Gregg; grandchildren, Elizabeth Gregg of Lincoln, NE, Spencer (Rhiann) Gregg of Highland Ranch, CO, Morgan and McKenzie Gregg of Lincoln, NE; great-grandson Tallan of Lincoln NE; brothers Gary (Carolyn) Gregg and Kim Gregg all of Lake City; sister Ardis (Jim) Andrews of The Villages, FL; sister-in-law Sandy Heath of Sioux City, Kay (Gary) Streeter of Lake City, and Judy (Darrell) Vande Kral, Oskaloosa, IA, brother-in-law’s Leonard (Diane) Simpson, Kenny (Valarie) Simpson, and Doug (Peg) Simpson all of Sac City, IA as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother and sister-in-law Merlin and Alice Gregg of Milford, NE, and brother-in-law Don Heath of Sioux City, IA.
