Lake City – Arnold Moulds, 93, died Monday, November 25, 2019 at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lake City.
Arnold Guy Moulds was born on February 18, 1926, in Auburn, Iowa, to Guy and Christena (Janssen) Moulds. After graduating from Lake City High School in 1944, Arnie joined the Army Air Corps serving from 1944-1945. On October 21, 1950, Arnie married Joann Simons in Lake City and together they celebrated 68 years of marriage before Joann’s death in May. Throughout the years Arnie worked as part-owner of the Lake City Café, manager at Joyce Lumberyard in Yetter, Chief of Police in Lake City, he owned Arnie’s North Star Station in Lake City and was an inspector for the Department of Agriculture before retiring in March 1991. He was a member of the Lake City American Legion and was a past commander.
Arnie is survived by his children Laird (Cyndi) Moulds of Sharpsburg, MD, Michael (Chris) Moulds of Corydon, IA, Shelle (Steve) Kent of Auburn, Karie Knouf of Rockwell City, and Jerome (Tammy) Moulds of Farnhamville; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister Miriam (Al) Hight; and brothers Dennis (Sheila) Moulds and Melvin (Carol) Moulds all of Lake City. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Joann in May 2019; son-in-law Dr. Paul Knouf; great-granddaughter Julee Moulds; and sisters Marjorie Kittesland and Betty Brauckman.
