Lake City – Robert Clow, 84, died Monday, November 9, 2020 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge of complications from COVID-19.  A private family burial will take place in the Lake City Cemetery.  Lampe-Powers Funeral Home in Lake City is assisting the family.

Robert Edwin Clow was born on May 13, 1936 in Lake City, Iowa to Edwin and Ruth (Moulds) Clow. After graduating from Westview High School in Lake City, Bob joined the U.S. Air Force serving from 1955-1959.  During this time he was stationed for 15 months on a remote island in Alaska on the DEW radar site and other radar sites.  He earned the rank of Airman First Class.  On September 1, 1963, Bob married Patricia Liesch at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lake City. For 20 years Bob worked as a mechanic and then worked another 20 years as R&D manager at Bowie Manufacturing in Lake City before his retirement in 2001. Bob was a member of the Rapid Riders Motorcycle Club, American Legion and a lifetime member of the NRA.

Bob was a handyman and spent many hours in his garage fixing cars, bikes, small engines, and more for his family, neighbors, and friends.  He enjoyed visiting with people who stopped by while he was out working in his shop.  He was always proud to show off his “man cave” filled with his collection of guns, knives, and inventions.  Bob was a very hard worker, and in fact, was still tilling and tending to his own garden this year.  He took great care of his 1993 Chevy S10 in which he even added his own back-up camera.  He loved his kids and grandkids very much and always had great advice and good stories to tell.  His sense of humor and good-natured disposition will be missed by so many.

Bob is survived by his daughters Roxanne (Terry) Peterson of Alta, Kristy (Tom) Anderson of Rockwell City, and Tricia Daniel of Carroll; grandchildren and great-grandchildren Joe (Hannah) Rascon and daughter Sophia, Kelsie Peterson and daughters Ivory and Iris, Lily Peterson, Mason Peterson, Macie (Brandon) Schoon and son Cohlter, Kaden Anderson, Teylor Anderson, Bridgette Daniel and Brigham Daniel; brother Harry (Nola) Clow of Lake City; and sister Carol (Clayton) Roller of Lake City.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law Karen and Richard Hansen; and wife Pat who died on October 17th.
